Hassle
By Jwallker
From my experience it seems that this company does not possess this product. They have two listings for it, but from both listings they sent me a different amp. TWO times. Also, getting all your money back is a hassle. Buy it from crutchfield because the amp itself is awesome and their customer support is outstanding.

this thing rocks

I don't write many reviews but I noticed this product didn't have any on Amazon. I bought this as a replacement to a Kicker 400.1. I am pushing 2x12" Kicker CVR's in a Kicker ported box (2ohm load). The 400.1 produced lots of bass but as those speakers are 400w RMS each I needed a little more power. Right away I could tell the difference and I had gain set at half. While adjusting the gain I found myself in a storm of rattles coming from the back of my SUV and even though I should have the gain set higher, I have it turned down below half way. My Pioneer head unit outputs 4v. Stays fairly cool and no issues so far (2 weeks heavy usage). I've been a fan of Kicker products for 20 years and have never been disappointed. I'm sure the odd/bad product gets out the door but none in my hands. This is an older model amp (last year's). Birth certificate shows 1041 RMS watts, and a production date of Nov 2011. Thought about buying the newer model but at several hundred dollars more, I decided this one was fine. It's a tad bigger than the new version but at a size around 9x10" this is small for it's power output. Simple hookups (love the power ground hookups, strip 4ga wire and push it in, turn the set screw and you're done). My Kicker 400.1 used spades and I never had a spade crimped on the end of my 4ga, nice to have it fit properly now.Easy controls, not using the included bass remote but I have in the past with my old amp. I like to set it and forget it so I don't mess with the bass much. Would be nice if I had a good hiding place, I'd think of mounting the remote for those older rock songs without a lot of bass (hello Van Halen!).

loud and cool
By Alexander L. Smith
I bought this amp a little over a month ago. I went from 2 12" sub to 4 12" subs. I have a kenwood exelon deck with 3 4v preamp out puts, a 50 farad cap, 400 watt 4 channel alpine amp, kenwood 9105d "1800" watt amp, and this beast of an amp from kicker. I bought it to push 2 new subs I bought but a little over a month after I got it, a guy who works for fosgate told me I'd be better off and easier on the cars charging system to run all four speakers to one amp. He was right. 4 DVC 4 ohm speakers can be wired to 2 ohms where as separating 2 subs to an amp run at 4 ohms or 1 ohm this amp kicks the kenwoods ass. The kenwood over heated even in the winter here in Denver which when u have ladies in the car or ur cruising is not cool at all. If ur deciding between this or a kenwood 9105 get this one. I can't get this amP to cut off. It's pushing two fosgate p2's and two fosgate p3's. Had this amp over eight months and not once have I been disappointed. A lot of people say the cap doesn't help that's because they don't have a big enough one. I would suggest a real cap with this amp because it needs extra juice to do its thing right. It will boost your cold cranking amps on your battery as well. Don't go cheep on a system you'll just be replacing things n spend more in the end save ur money n do it right the first time.
