Pioneer GM-D8604 Class FD 4-Channel Amplifier has big power in a small size. This extra-efficient Class-D digital amplifier marks a dramatic improvement in power output capability. 50% smaller than other amplifiers makes this amplifier more versatile in terms of installation as well as performance. With Pioneer's digital amplifier circuit, this "Protection Control System" senses its internal temperature and automatically moderates input level accordingly. Stable, durable circuitry lessens the risk of high input power for the unit to achieve 1 Ù connection. This design enhances the flexibility to connect multiple subwoofers to a system. Perfect for my application

This amp powers my Pioneer D-Series Speakers and the sound is impeccable. It is the perfect amp for my mids and high and i love the power and clarity i am getting out my speakers since the install.

may just this one bad!

less than one month 1 channel went out today going to send back for refund ,had the auto stereo shop install another type of amp. it sounded good when it worked right.

Its great, but kinda tricky...

The amp has good power, I had trouble for a few days with it going into protect mode and could not figure out why... I finally got it, a couple of my tweeters were cutting out when volume went past 50%, and this amp picks up on it and saves them buy stopping the circuit. Its part of its "smart circuitry". It also has a short or something on the rear gain control, I have to mess with it for awhile to get any volume to go through, but once I get the sweet spot on the button it comes in. I have got past these issues and it performs well if I don't touch it. Its a great looking amp too.
