Great "Little" Amp
By Johnathan M. North
Purchased this amplifier to power a single Alpine Type-R 8" DVC subwoofer and it surely does that well. First impressions when unboxing was how small this amp was vs. the rated power output. I found out soon that this amp puts out a bit too much power for the 8" it was paired with, and that 8" is no slouch...so needless to say, this amp delivers. The reason I left off the 5th star was I feel I need to be completely happy with every aspect of a product to give a perfect rating. That said the reason I don't believe this to be perfect is purely due to the screw terminals used for wiring up the amp. First, they are a philips head style grub screw, which I was surprised to see. I would have thought they'd be allen hex. Since they are philips, and a grub style (recessed), and since they are in such close proximity to the edge of the end cap, it's just a bit tricky to get the screws tightened down nicely since you need to use a smaller sized philips head screwdriver to not have the screwdriver rubbing the end cap (and possibly chipping the paint) while you tighten the screws.Overall, this is amp is definitely worth the price. You're getting alot of power output and a small footprint for a killer price.
