Couldn't ask for more
By joseph
I'll try to be as helpful in this review as I can. If you're in the market for a quality 5 channel amplifier, this one is for you. Initially I was quite skeptical of this unit because of the brand name (I've never heard of RE Audio) and really questioned the quality of this amplifier. I'm not going to say I'm "old school" like a lot of car audio guys claim to be, but I normally stick with brands like Boston Acoustics, JBL, Polk, Inifinity, Focal, Alpine, but for the price, positive customer reviews from numerous sites, and specifications, this amp couldn't be beat. I took a shot in the dark and ordered it (i figured most electronics today are massed-produced anyway and how bad could it be?) Upon receiving it in the mail, I was almost positive they sent me the wrong amplifier, possibly a two channel?? WRONG. This guy is small but don't let the size fool you, it packs quite a punch! The size of this amplifier made it very easy for me to mount it with plenty space to spare in the small trunk of a '97 convertible 3 series. With all that extra space around the amplifier, I felt confident that it would have ample space to dissipate heat but this was not much of a concern either. Being that the deisgn of this amplifier is a class "D", it never really got hot. ever. I pushed this amp to what I thought was it's limits one day with my headunit volume just about as high as it could go before distorting. For those out there with convertibles, you know how annoying stock radios are with the top back doing 75 on the interstate so amplification is critical for good sound. Not too mention is was a pretty hot day here in Florida and I was almost positive it was ready to go into protect mode. At the end of my commute I went to my trunk to feel it and was shocked. Take the back of your hand and touch your fingers to your cheek. That's about how warm it was. Impressive!I have this powering Polk Audio 5.25 components up front, and Polk Audio 4" coaxials in the rear, followed by a Polk Audio 10" subwoofer in the trunk. The sound quality is crystal clear! I'm an extremely picky person when it comes to clear sound and quality. My goal is to have my car sound more like a home theater setup. beatifully balanced is what I shoot for. If you are the kind of person that wants your mirror to fall off and crack your windshield, this amp is not for you. Make no mistake, it does put out a very nice amount of kick, however i'd gear this more along the lines of nice quality sound instead of junk they sell at Wmart.I'll sum it up by saying this amplifier is very nicely built, solid, cool running, efficient because of it's class "D" design and the sound quality doesn't suffer from it at all, crystal clear, powerful enough to satisfy a mature listener (not a kid looking for 2 12" Kickers in his Integra), nice and small, and best of all the price made this purchase a no-brainer for me.

Cheap, Quality power!

Had a system in every car since I was 16. This runs my Infinity components and 2 8" IDQ subwoofers very well. Great bass from the 300w and the speakers are crystal clear. I love this amp, just as good as my PDX 5 and $100 less.
