Product Description
Charles Darwin generated a lot of controversy with his theory of evolution. Although his theories were well respected in the scientific community, they met with opposition from some in the general public. Sound Storm Laboratories' EVOLUTION is a series of stylish, efficient, high performing amplifiers that are as exciting and well respected as Darwin's theory, but without all of the controversy. SSL EVOLUTION is loved by scientists and non-scientists alike. The high power output of the SSL EVOLUTION 2-channel amplifiers makes them a natural selection for those wanting a BIG sound. EVOLUTION amplifiers allow the user to power a combination of tweeters, full range speakers and subwoofers in order to tune their vehicle's sound system to their exact preference specifications. The two ohm stable EV2.1200 provides 1,200 watts of peak power. This 2-channel MOSFET amplifier is bridgeable and also features tri-mode operation. It comes standard with a low pass crossover variable from 40Hz to 150Hz, a fixed (200Hz) high pass crossover, and Bass Boost variable from zero to +18dB. Additional features include a variable input gain control, power and protection (thermal, overload, and short circuit) LED indicators, and line and speaker level inputs. All EVOLUTION 2-channel MOSFET amplifiers include chrome plated RCA connectors and screw terminals and a remote subwoofer level control knob. Frequency response is 9Hz to 50Hz (+/-3dB). I bought two of these to replace one Memphis 1000 watt mono amp . I also knew that the rating would be weak but I am running one per sub (Memphis m5) the subs are rated at 1000 watts 500 per voice coil .I will be writing another review in a few days so if I can get the bang for my buck . so far it is a little weak but about what I expected .

By kdsotherhalf
This isn't the biggest or most powerful amp but its worth the money. I have it pushing 2 rockford 12's in a single cab truck. It sounds better than the 1500 watt audiopipe amp and 2 Memphis 12's I used to have. Sure they're are better amps. But not everyone can afford them or even like them for that matter. If you want serious sound buy digital design. Their stuff is bullet proof and second to no one. That includes all you high school kicker fans.

By Stephen
I bought two of these "1200W" amps. They look outstanding, have a lot of very nice features, and push a decent amount of power...especially when you consider the LOW price. But, and it's a fairly BIG BUT, do not buy this expecting to get ANYWHERE NEAR 1200W out of it!! First, they advertise as "2 ohm stereo stable", & yeah it is (doesn't go into protected mode & shut off when you run it at 2 ohm STEREO, but don't even think of 2 ohm bridged), but it puts out I would say MORE clean power into 4 ohms than 2!!! And it does not have a "soft turn on/off" so you can expect that wonderful POP when you power it on/off. Decent overall for the price...just don't expect too much!!!
